Jonathon had his appointment this morning. We had to go back to the old yucky place in Port Huron. We were going to Capac (much better, cleaner, nicer, newer facility), but they shut down.
We got right in though - that was nice. I hate sitting around waiting at these things. Jonathon of course wanted to play and make friends, but I just couldn't let him. With the H1N1 crap going around I really try to avoid ALL germs. I know that is impossible and trust me Jonathon is not in a bubble.
Jonathon weighs 24lbs 12 oz - he has lost weight. He used to weigh 25lbs. We will be going back for a weight check in 3 months.
The dietician told me to try Carnation Instant Breakfast in his milk. And everything else was pretty much keep doing what we have been doing. I am just hoping his weight loss is because he just had surgery and nothing else is going on. So now it's time to work on fattening him up!
Jonathon's height is 2ft. 9 inches. Pretty good there. I knew he was getting taller. He is outgrowing everything. I cannot believe some of his clothes are 3T now because of his height. (of course then they fall off because of his weight).
And Jonathon had his iron checked. He is at 13.3(Excellent)
We left W.I.C. and stopped off at Sams Club on the way home. Picked up some Carnation Instant Breakfast mix, Fruit Snacks, Gatorade(for big brothers) and Hershey Kisses(for everyone). Oh and Jonathon picked out a huge book of stickers(Disney Cars of course) He is really into stickers lately and he is always rewarded with a trip to the toy store after being poked for blood.
Got home and tried right away to give him some milk. Ummmm he is not too sure about this. He drank a little with his lunch and we will try more at dinner. Hopefully he will learn to like it. When I go back out I will get him some different flavors.
All in all a good day.

Potty Training Update
I believe we have finally advanced to the next level of potty training.
Monday afternoon Jonathon had his first underwear accident. I explained to him how he must tell mommy that he needs to go the bathroom "before" he actually goes. There was sadness in his eyes and a few tears ~ We put a fresh pair of undies on and continued on with our day.
Thursday evening after dinner Jonathon was playing in the living room while I was cleaning up the kitchen when Gilbert said "Hey why does he do that"? I look over to see Jonathon pulling down his pants ~ I quickly went over to him and said "oh lets go potty" ~ And he went
Just a few minutes ago Jonathon was sitting in the hallway looking at his Disney book and trying to take stickers out of the back when I heard "Mama" "MAMA" His tone changed quickly so I hurried over to him to him walking toward me with pants "soaked" ~ this time I did not have a tone like on Monday because he really did try ~ he called me ~ I just didn't get to him fast enough. Which makes me sad, but it's a step I know we have to go through!
Makes me very very proud that he is finally getting it on his own to at least try to tell me! I know one day Jonathon will be totally potty trained, but for now i will continue to be patient with him.
There are many days since last February when I started this whole potty training thing that I have wanted to take a BREAK!!! But I have never done that ~ through my migraines, my tiredness, Jonathon being sick, my trips out of the house to wherever, not being able to sleep in EVER, and Jonathon having surgery we have never taken a BREAK!! It's a long long road to success, but when you get this close there are no words of how a mother feels!!!!
Keep up the good work Jonathon we are almost there! Mommy loves you very very much and is very very proud of you!

Really Does Not
need mommy to go to school and lurk around!!!!!!
Jonathon had his 2nd day of preschool on Wednesday. His time slot is 9:30a.m. til 10:30a.m. When he first arrived at 9:30a.m. it was snack time. I don't think he really liked this. He wanted to play. But he did go and sit at the table with the other boys, he just didn't eat his snack like on Monday or like he does at home. A few crackers and juice was better than none.
After snack was puzzle time ~ I stayed back where I could see ~ He did great at puzzle time. All the boys remained at the snack table and each one received an appropriate puzzle to work on. Jonathon had farm animals and zoo animals ~ with the little tab sticking out of the top. ~ He really enjoys this kind at home. A couple of times he tried touching the little boy next to him and was just told not too.
After puzzle time everyone went over and sat in a chair. Of course Jonathon did not want to sit in a chair..... he wanted to play.....It was calendar time. They all sang a song about the days of the week ~ this mommy must learn so we can reinforce at home~oh and he did pretty much stay in his chair.
Then they got up and each student went and stood on a square piece of carpet(kinda like a small throw rug) They were going to do the wiggle song ~ which is an assortment of different clips ~ lets do the jerk(boys would move their arms up and down) ~ lets do the swim(move arms like swimming) lets do the twist(of course twisting motion)etc. Jonathon really enjoyed this~he loves music and loves to dance at home.
Then they went back and sat in the chairs again and they did another song ~ The wheels on the Bus ~ now Jonathon really did not want to sit any longer ~ so he stood with Mrs. Rhodes for a few minutes. I do need to learn the motion of this song again. I have been singing the song with Jonathon for awhile now, but forgot about the motions(cannot remember everything from 10 yrs. ago!)lol:)
Then they started reading a story about Who stole the cookie from the cookie jar.(Was telling Andrew and Kenny about this before school today and Kenny remembers the silly story) me ~ well I have to learn it again. Hey, but I do remember "R E D" spells red "R E D " spells red apples and tomatoes "R E D" spells red. (he he) Anyway Jonathon started this and then Mrs. O(speech teacher) came in to take him to speech class. I watched out the door as he walked away hand in hand with teacher and looking like such a big boy!!!! I did good. I didn't go spy. I wanted to. But I listened to Mrs. Rhodes finish up the story with the other boys and then we all walked down to the sensory room. The sensory room is really cool ~ Jonathon never got to use it before ~ this is something new they just added ~ I do believe he will get a chance to go down and play eventually ~ I will have to take my camera to get pictures ~ It is definitely nicer than the little room Jonathon had to use for O.T.
I left the sensory room after a few minutes and walked back to the classroom and Jonathon was there waiting for me. He had a good time in speech. He pointed to some things and tried to talk with the teacher. He spent about 15 minutes with her and she said that was great for the first time. He even gave her a great big hug!
Then it was time to go AND he really hates leaving!
Great job Jonathon! You are such a big boy! Mommy loves you so so so much!!!!!!

PreSchooler in the House.......
Jonathon had his first day of preschool on Monday! I cannot believe my 3rd child ~ my angel ~ my baby is already in preschool. Where the heck did the time go?????
He definitely did great! He definitely does not need mommy to stand in the background and keep watch! (but for now mommy is staying and lurking in the background anyway). On Mondays he will attend class from 8:30a.m. til 9:45a.m. I am not too sure if it's the same routine from week to week or things will be different.
Monday Jonathon walked into class, took off his coat and then Mrs. Rhodes(teacher) introduced him to his new friends(classmates). There are 5 other boys in the class ranging from 2 3/4(really close to 3) up to 4yr. olds almost turning 5. The two older boys are great, you can really see that they are ready for kindergarten next year. And the other 3 boys were quiet.
Solitary play (playing alone with materials and ideas) was going on when we arrived. So Jonathon went and got a toy truck and joined in the fun of driving around the class room with the other boys.
Parallel Play (playing side by side, sometimes mirroring each other, sometimes doing very different activities with the same materials). The two older boys were playing with a container filled with trucks and cars etc. and they were putting them in a garage and playing. Jonathon walked over to the container and picked out a truck...~ then he stood there watching the 2 older boys ~ Mrs. Rhodes asked the one older boy to invite Jonathon over to play ~ Jonathon walked a little closer, but chose not to join. ~ I explained to Mrs. Rhodes that one particular boy is loud ~ when voices get loud at home it's Jonathon's 2 older brothers getting yelled at by their father ~ Jonathon does not like loud noises ~ I think when he realizes that this one particular classmate is louder than the rest it will be o.k.
Then Jonathon went over to the shelf and seen some markers ~ he got the markers off of the shelf so Mrs. Rhodes asked him if he wanted to draw a picture ~ he said yes ~ he sat at the table and drew a great picture. Then it was clean up time and ready for snack time.
All the boys went over to the shelf to get their snack out. Mrs. Rhodes helped Jonathon with his. He had a juice box and some fruit snacks.(I cut the fruit snacks up for now). He sat right there with all the other boys and ate his snack and drank his juice box all gone and I just stood in the background amazed.......My baby has grown up overnight it seems like. He really did a good job on his first day listening to the teacher and having a great time at school.
Jonathon has always had a playmate on occasion and that is Miss America(Rylee) his bestest friend! And they have always done great together and I hope they always remain close. But this is the first time Jonathon has been with a group of children to play ~ I really did not know how he was going to react ~ I should have known better ~ Jonathon is alot like Kenny! Loves to meet new people and always willing to make friends!!!!
Looking forward to Wednesday to see how it goes.....He will be leaving the classroom to go to speech with the 2 3/4 yr. old and mommy is NOT going!
So when I feel that I am o.k. to walk away from the classroom I will. Til then I will remain in the shadows!
WAY TO GO PEANUT BUTTER!!!!! MOMMY IS SO SO PROUD OF YOU!!!! I LOVE YOU!

Someone Does not Like......
Public Bathrooms still! We left the house yesterday morning at 8:30a.m. to go to an Eye Appt. The eye appt. went great. He is doing good. His eyes are straight. We picked up his new lenses. We got an adjustment on his glasses. We go back in 6 months. After the eye appt. I had a few errands to run. We attempted to use the restroom at the Dr.'s office on the way out......~ NOPE not gonna happen. So we left ~ so far it has been 3 hours since last potty break at home ~ We had about a 30 minute drive to the next stop ~ when we arrived at store I immediately took Jonathon to the restroom ~ NOPE not gonna happen again!!!! ~ Finished shopping and continued on to the next stop ~ now it has been 4 hours since last potty break ~ got to next store ~ which is local Kroger we ALWAYS shop at and go potty at! ~ well NOT today ~ I still had 2 more stops to make before we went home ~ before we were supposed to go home ~ since my little boy refused to use any restrooms we skipped the last 2 stops and went DIRECTLY home. In house straight to potty and of course he went!!!! 5 hours he held it!
I guess I could probably put him undies all day, but I'm not. Not just yet. I really think he gets mad about having to sit to pee, when he knows at home he stands. And he doesn't want me to hold him up. Too bad public bathrooms couldn't just add 1 little toilet for the little ones and 1 shorter urinal. Sure would be nice.
So I have decided that from now on we will be packing up "our" urinal and just taking it with us AND maybe from now on he will pee.
Don't have any plans to be out and about for a long time ~ so will update when we venture out again.

Updates
Jonathon has been recovering well after his ear tube/adenoidectomy surgery. He is eating and drinking everything back to normal.
He is not wobbling like before when he walks ~ he is walking quite well I must say. He is going up and down his stairs alot quicker too. ~ We go stepping on a daily basis ~ I guess this is good excercise for mommy!
He is beginning to talk clearer too ~ I know some may say this is really quick, are you sure, but yes I am sure. We have added some words to his vocabulary already!

Manny ~ Handy Manny
Minnie ~ Mickey and Minnie Mouse
Enny ~ Kenny ~ Kenny used to be nyny(nee nee)
Hello
Took a bath last night and I always blow dry Jonathon's hair in the winter to make sure he doesn't get a chill. ~ Jonathon does not like the blow dryer ~ last night he sat there and let me blow dry his hair without complaining!
Looking forward to going out in public ~ Curious to see how he is going to react in a public bathroom ~ Will the noise still bother him???? We will see, because tomorrow we have an eye appt.
My potty trainer is coming up on 1 year in Feb. He may not tell me that he needs to use the rest room ~ but as long as I take him he has not had any accidents. Yes he had the occasional dampness months back. ~ I have never had a poop accident! "AMAZING"
Today is Jonathon's 9th day wearing underwear! He wears a pull up when he takes a nap and when he goes to bed for the night. Before surgery he was waking up dry from his nap and in the morning. ~ I have been pushing the fluids since surgery and he is back to waking up little wet from nap and whole lot wet in the morning. ~ last night I went back to cutting out drinks after dinner. ~ he gets a quick drink of water right before bed. ~ this morning he was just damp ~ not soaked ~ Otherwise he has underwear on all day and he has done an excellent job ~ I have not had one problem with him ~ now once in a great while he will go over to stand by bathroom door ~ this is his way of telling me he has to pee ~ he has a favorite book he reads in the bathroom when he has to go poop ~ Chuck and friends ~ Saturday night he brought me the book so I hurried up and asked him if he needed to poop and he went right to the bathroom door ~ we went in ~ put him up on the toilet ~ right away he pooped ~ we are almost there! And I am one proud mommy of my angel Jonathon!!!!!

Surgery is Over!
What a long and exhausting day this has been! We were up at 4a.m. to leave at 5a.m. to be at hospital at 6:30a.m.
We got lost ~ we (hubby and I) got into huge arguement over me not getting correct directions! I did, they were just confusing. ~ by the time we turned around ~ we missed our exit AGAIN! ~ Again I got yelled at! (as our 14yr. old is sitting in back with Jonathon) poor Andrew and Jonathon. ~ I am so over getting yelled at! ~ so I called hospital to let them know what was going on. ~ they were fine and said to take our time ~ we woke to a snowstorm ~ roads were horrendous! ~ we were only 10 minutes late. ~ and by now I was a little ticked off!
We stayed with Jonathon til 7:35a.m. and then they took him back. Even though this was a much simpler surgery than OHS, it still crushed me to watch my baby get wheeled away. ~ We went to the next waiting area and then Andrew and I hurried to go get a drink ~ I forgot my Gatorade at home. ~ and most everyone knows I "NEED" that! ~while we were gone (2 minutes) someone had come out and let my husband know that yes they would be taking the adnoids out too. ~ so we waited. ~ not very long and they came to get us to go to another room to wait for the Dr. ~ as we are sitting and waiting Gilbert and I hear a scream ~ "Is that Jonathon?" First time we weren't sure. ~ but when that door opened again and I heard it again ~ a mother just knows ~ "IT WAS MY BABY!"
Trying to hold composure til Dr. came in. He talked with us really quick and then someone would be out to get us in about 20 - 30 minutes he said. As he was leaving the room a nurse was walking in to get us. ~ Thank God! ~ Dr. was surprised. ~ i didn't care ~ just get me to my baby. ~ I walked into recovery ~ to Jonathon screaming and thrashing all about ~ trying to come out of the anesthesia ~ They gave him to me and I just "hugged him sooooo tight and talked to him" ~ And yes lots of tears from mommy too ~ After a few minutes we both settled down. ~ he drifted in and out of sleep ~ took maybe 30 to 45 minutes to get him to drink ~ then he felt better. ~ we were dressed and on the road by 9:30a.m. "HOORAY!"
We were half way home when Jonathon vomitted all over! ~ Luckily we were able to pullover and luckily I always pack way too much stuff! I was able to clean him up and carseat and change his clothes and we were off again.
got home around 10:30a.m. ~ He has had a little bit of water and just a few bites of jello. I know he is hungry ~ but his throat is bothering him ~ rocked him to sleep and I think I will give him Tylenol later so then maybe he will be able to tolerated the jello.
I have to put drops in his ears ~ 3 drops 3x per day for 3 days and then we go for a recheck in 3 weeks. ~ It will be really weird tonight when I don't have to do the Little Noses.
Happy to be home ~ Happy Jonathon is resting ~ Happy surgery was a success!

Happy New Year!
Brought the new year in with me jumping out of a sound sleep to Jonathon screaming!!!!!(bad mommy). Last night I took his bed rail off of his toddler bed thinking that "maybe" he wouldn't fall out anymore. WRONG! He fell out this morning at 6a.m. onto the metal frame of my bed. "OUCH" I grabbed him and hugged him tight and then got him his boo boo puppy out of the freezer. After 10 minutes he was good and ready to start his day. Just a little red mark now, no bump.
Although I feel like crap. I really thought he was ready. So I will put the bed rail back on today.
I really wish Jonathon had his own room so he had room to move around and fall out of bed safely!
