Fun in the Snow

We finally got a day where there was enough snow to play and Jonathon was healthy enough to go outside!

New camera

My camera has not been working the greatest lately.....a friend let me borrow it when Jonathon was born and it has been a very good camera for us and I love the picture quality, but it was time to retire it and find something new.  I have missed lots of good pictures lately and while I do have a camera on my cell phone, it's just not the same.

So I went online searching for a replacement....I talked to family members to see what they were using....we had a limit to spend....I received a $75.00 gift card at Christmas for MasterCard so I decided to use it toward a camera.  After all my research I decided to go with another Kodak.  Kodak Easy share M590 to be exact.  And it was on sale for a great price.  But then I ran into another problem....no store had it in stock...I really wanted it this weekend because tomorrow we are celebrating Andrew's 16th birthday.  He will turn 16 on Tuesday.  So I started searching online for what stores did have it in stock.  Finally found one ~ had to go to Roseville and had to get a silver one instead of red.  But I got it and now I have been trying to figure out how to use it.

Quite the poser!

So while I am trying to figure out all the bells and whistles on this new camera I really hope I end up liking it!  Tomorrow will be a great test day during Andrew's birthday.  I should know after that if I like the quality of the pictures.  It's supposed to be a great camera.  Time will tell.

New Things

So I took Jonathon to WIC on Wednesday for his 6 month check up ~ which actually we were on a 3 month check up for a couple of times.  They wanted me to see if I could get Jonathon's weight up.

He weighed 27lbs 12oz last time ~ he weighed 27lbs 12 oz this time.  But he just got over being sick with a viral infection and was out of school over 1 week.  So me as a parent ~ I am not concerned with his weight.  When we had a recheck at the pediatrician he actually gained over 1lb and they had him at 28.8.  I don't know why the scale at WIC is so different.

So once again I am supposed to work on getting more weight on him.  Back to carnation instant breakfast drinks ~ I am actually going to try Pediasure ~ maybe he will like that ~ who knows.  Peanut Butter on everything ~ ok I never thought to put peanut butter on waffles, pancakes and french toast ~ he likes peanut butter and jelly so we will try.

Dried fruit ~ so I bought raisins ~ umm not happening ~ but no one in this house likes raisins, so I am not surprised.

Sugar ~ brown sugar ~ syrup......now here I thought sugar was bad for you!  so I am not too sure about that one either.

Cheese on everything ~ we already do this ~ he loves cheese!

And lets see ~ I am 4ft 11in and weigh 116 - hubby is 6ft 1 and weighs 187 - Andrew is 5ft 6 and weighs 134 and kenny is 5ft 3 and weighs 102 - soooo I don't think Jonathon's weight is a problem. And he is very very active!

But ok, I will try and see what happens.

Here is the result of this morning ~ Jonathon loves blueberry waffles, always eats all his blueberry waffles

peanut butter added

left overs

So adding peanut butter did not work ~ Jonathon ended up eating less than before and ummm sorry but this is not the way to gain weight ~ this is the way to lose weight!

And it's almost celebration time ~ 6 days until HAPPY HEART DAY ~ 3yr ANNIVERSARY

Alot of Nothing

There is not much going on over this way!

I finally got all 3 boys better and back to school.  Just in time for 1/2 days all week for the older 2 and this is exam week also.

Jonathons schedule did not change.  He is still in school from 7:55a.m. til 11:15a.m.  But his brothers start at 8:05a.m. and get out at 11:42a.m.  I wish they could have the schedules a little closer together, but that would be too easy.  So when I pick up Jonathon, we go over to the junior/high school and wait the 30 minutes for the older ones.  Thank goodness I have a DVD player so Jonathon can watch his movies.  During this time I catch up on emails, or phone calls.

We went yesterday and got Andrew his level 1 learners permit....now he can drive me around....well when I let him....he didn't want to drive yesterday with Jonathon in the van.....which is just fine with me....I am glad that Andrew specified that....because a 3 1/2 yr. old can make a whole lot of noise back there.....watching t.v., dancing, singing to music, playing with toys, or just plain grumpy and yelling....so yes that can be very distracting.  I will just make sure I take time out to take Andrew out driving without Jonathon.  Ummm as soon as I figure out how to add that into my already too busy day!

School told me this morning that yesterday during free play in the gym that Jonathon wandered off to the other toddlers from a different class and joined them to play!  How awesome, he is finally breaking out of his shell.  Very very proud of him.  And they told me how he stopped by daycare to talk to some babies in the strollers.   My Jonathon just loves the babies!

Daddy, told me last night that I need to take some music off of Jonathon's radio.  Ok, he has some head banging stuff on there. Monster by SKillet.  But he just likes the beat of the music.  I don't really see anything wrong with it.  He likes Katy Perry, Pink, Lady Gaga, Skillet, Conway Twitty, Bruno, Wiz Khalifa, Ke$ha.  He likes a whole lot of variety!!!  And he loves the Cha Cha Slide and some other funny kid songs too.  Sally the camel.  So I think Daddy is being silly.  Jonathon needs to express himself!

Trip to the Doctor

this morning.  Jonathon has been sick since last Thursday.  Over the weekend he developed a high fever, snotty yucky nose, and extremely bad cough.

He isn't drinking like he usually does and eating is minimal.

Diagnosed viral infection ~ he is on Zithromax for 5 days.....if I don't' see him getting better by Wednesday then we have to call Dr. Pediatrician back.  Let's just hope this works.

He is resting!

Later this evening mommy has to go out ~ It's our very first meeting of 2011 for "St. Clair County Down Syndrome Support Group"  I can't wait to find out what is in store for this year.  I wonder if we will have another Buddy Walk ~ there has been rumors that we might not this year.  Which will be sad because our team "TEAM FISHY CRACKER" raised over $3,000.  And I get to pick up Jonathon's I.D. bracelet that was ordered a while ago.

Had a good run.....

while it lasted......being healthy that is.

First off at school there are a few students that are home with the flu/colds and some that are still in class coughing up a storm.

On Wednesday afternoon we went and picked up Rylee and her mom and headed out to do some shopping.  Our first stop was Sams Club.  We were actually in and out pretty quick so we decided to drive on down the road to McDonalds and let the kids get lunch.

After McDonalds we headed across the street to the local mall to hang out for awhile.  We actually separated and Rylee was going to go to the main play area and Jonathon and I were going to go to JC Penney to return some jeans.  After I finished in JC Penney, we headed down to Victoria Secret and who do I find......Rylee and her mom, they never made it to the play area!  Jonathon and I finished up in Victoria Secret and headed out for a walk to find the restroom. We finished in the restroom and headed back to find our friends.  Who by the way were still at Victoria Secret!  silly girls....

Finally we met back up and Rylee still wanted to go to the play area, but I said "No to Jonathon going".  I explained how I just was not ready for "germs"  that Jonathon has been doing great and I didn't want to take the chance of him catching something.  Nik understood and went alone with Rylee.

So we decided to do some P.T. while we were waiting.  I got Jonathon out of his stroller and let him walk next to me.  Trying to teach Jonathon to walk without looking at his feet.  For some reason when we are out of the house he feels the need to look at the ground while he is walking.  Drives me crazy!!!!  He actually did really really well once he discovered that there was pictures on the wall that he could look and walk at the same time.

So we headed back over to Rylee and they were just getting ready to go and we headed for home....oh we had to stop on the way out for a cookie first - thanks Nik!!  Jonathon loves his cookies....and then we headed home.

Both kids fell asleep on the way home.  Exhausted from their busy day.

After we dropped off Nik and Rylee, we had about a 7 min. ride to get home.  I was almost home when Jonathon coughed/gagged...as I am thinking.....oh no....you were fine.....don't tell me you are coming down with something.....especially after I said no play area.....

We got home, he seemed ok, besides that he was tired.  12a.m. Thursday morning he woke up barking......GREAT!  and a low fever!  So we skipped school and went to see the Dr.  He wasn't really coughing and he was fever was gone.  I was told to just push fluids and if its croup, he will be better in a few days.  Thursday was pretty good day.  He ate and played like he always does and didn't even really cough.

This morning.....not so good.....Woke up with a low fever, coughing more today, lying around watching his Cars movie.  Few minutes ago asked him if he would like to try some yogurt and he said yes.   Bad idea, after 3 bites it all came back up....guess his tummy doesn't want that.  But he did make it to the bathroom and to the toilet - so no accidents.  And now after he vomited he is still quiet, but he is off the couch and wandering around some.

So it doesn't matter how much you try to protect your child, sometimes they still get sick.  Because it's just in the air, or at school.  I will continue to do the best that I can though.  And yes that might mean - no public play area - because I know they are not cleaned like they should be. (sorry Rylee).

Another Playdate

We had Rylee and Logan over on Friday after school.  Of course I didn't get any pictures of the big boys, they were in the bedroom gaming.

But got a couple of pictures of Rylee and Jonathon.  They had a great afternoon/evening together.  Played lots of toys and watched a movie and ate pizza.

I really enjoy when Jonathon gets to see Rylee and play for a couple of hours.  She is truly his best friend and I hope she never out grows him!

Pillow Pet

Ummmm..........I think he likes it!

It is times like these that I wish I had a better camera or a video camera for that matter!  Even though they are blurry, it was a great 10 minutes!

Oh and those are his headphones he used to wear in the public restrooms to keep the noise level down - he just decided to put them on and haul out his pillow pet!!!

New "Gamer" on the Block

w e l l ......almost.....I bought Jonathon a game for the Wii a few months ago and finally tried it after Christmas.  It is Jumpstart Escape from Adventure Island, you have to use the wand and it is mainly rolling it back and forth to do what you need to do.  It was kinda a pain even for me, so of course Jonathon didn't concept it all.  I just told him that was o.k. and we would put it away for now and try when he got a little older.....

He loves to go in and get on the bed and watch Kenny play PS3.  He will sit for hours with Kenny if I let him.  Kenny is 14 and likes shooter games.....Jonathon has a new vocabulary and it consist of a toy gun and alot of "POW" "POW" "POW"....Ok, I don't think he needs to be in front of that for very long.  So when we were out the other day running errands I decided to look for a couple of different games for the PS3 for Kenny.  Mainly because his Uncle John likes to play, but not really shooter games so I found Motorstorm Greatest Hits- this has trucks, ATVs, semi etc that you can race - right up Uncle John's alley.  And while I was searching I ran across a game for Jonathon to try.....Maybe the PS3 would be a little easier....  Here is what Jonathon got!

So much excitement!!
So I hooked it all up and let him try.....he did much better than with the Wii..... he can push the gas pretty good, but steering is not so good......but for the few minutes that he played he was very very happy.....so a good buy I think.....he will grow into it just like Andrew and Kenny did years ago....(their learning game was Spyro)

I do want to purchase the new Elmo game for the Wii when the price comes down.......

Dearest Jonathon

I love the fact that you are becoming such a big boy, but could you please do me a favor?

1.  Please do not take bowls off of the counter and help yourself to the M & M's - this could be very dangerous.......

2.  Please do not go into mommy's bedroom and help yourself to the candy canes that are way up high on the dresser - this too, could be very dangerous.....

3.  Please remember to keep your head up while you are walking outside - there is a whole world out there if you would stop looking at your feet - this too could be very dangerous.....

4.  Could you please sleep until 6:30a.m. - mommy is very tired and would like to sleep past 5:30 a.m.  (Thanks)

5.  Could you please just get into your bed at naptime/bedtime and STAY in your bed and go to sleep - mommy is tired of playing nanny 911 - I have walked many miles lately......

6.  When eating, could you please take one bite at a time AND finish chewing before shoving more into your mouth - this could be very dangerous......

7.  Please Please stop throwing toys at the television - please stop pounding on televison

8.  Please do not run in the house and jump on my couch - this too could be very dangerous....

9.  Please do not fight me when I try to put on your hat, gloves and coat every morning - it will be spring soon enough and you can put the winter items away.....

10.  Please do not change who you are ever - you are awesome - just be careful!

Love you!!
 Mommy

First playdate of 2011

After school today best friend Rylee came over to play.

I swear they had every single toy out of the toybox and everywhere in his room.  They played great together all afternoon.  They were really cute running all over with the toy 4 wheelers and trying on shoes together.

We had a couple of little mishaps, but nothing on purpose.  They both went to pick up a toy at the same time and Rylee got bonked.  And then Rylee went to hug Jonathon and Jonathon leaned back and they both fell, Rylee on top of Jonathon and Jonathon on top of a boat toy.  and then there were tears.......But everyone was fine and hugs and sorry's were given.

I am so glad that they are so close!  Was a great playday today.  Can't wait for the next one.

Looking Back

I started off this morning telling myself, ok it is a new year and I needed to get started on being organized.  I seen/heard a few weeks ago that you should just copy all your financial items onto a hard drive or usb drive instead of using a file cabinet.  Sounds good, if you have the time.  Not sure which way I am going to use, but that's how I already got side tracked this morning.  I plugged in my USB to see what was on there.  Pictures of course.

I cannot believe how much Jonathon has changed since last year.  He is really a big boy now.  I found some pictures from last year.  I can still see the baby face and baby fat.  Then I flip to pictures from this year and all the baby is gone. Especially since I cut his hair.  Reality is hitting that my baby is really growing up.

I am so proud of him.  And lately he is coming out of his shell.  He is imitating EVERYTHING!  He imitated almost everything/everyone at church yesterday morning.  It's so cute, but there were times that I had to keep saying SHHHHHH!!!!

He learned some new words over the holiday break.  Like "OH CRAP"  OOPS!  I warned the teacher this morning.  We really need to watch what we say from now on.

Anyway, here is some photos!

I see chubby little arms and chubby cheekers

loving his bells

not seeing those chubby cheeks anymore

I see a big change here!

really starting to show his personality!
I love my little boy to death!  I couldn't have asked for a better gift from God!

Merry Christmas Happy New Year

We had a very nice Christmas and got to spend it with part of the family.
On Christmas Eve we had Grandma and Grandpa Panczyk over for a couple of hours.  They seemed like they really enjoyed themselves this year and Grandma liked her present so much that she cried "happy" tears.  The boys got her a hummingbird knick knack.

Grandpa got 2 pairs of gloves and was like a kid in the candy store. He is so funny.

Aunt Jessie and Uncle Ed stopped by for a few minutes to hand out presents and visit on their way through to see Great Granny.  It was nice visiting for the short time that we did.

Later on that evening my sis, her hubby and son came over.  We had a blast!  Adam loved his gift (TGW) Trucks Gone Wild.  Carol-Ann liked her present from Jonathon and Uncle Dave got a new movie to watch. Jonathon was great opening presents, he really got excited this year.  He got a new Look and FInd book and a new shaker car Ramone.  Also a new ornament for the Christmas Tree.  Brother John and his family never made it over, but Kenny, Jonathon and I got to visit with him a couple of days later.  So Christmas was good.
We spent the week doing errands and playing at home.  Jonathon got new glasses right before Christmas, but they were not fitting correctly so we went back to get them looked at.  They have to make him a new pair.  They cut the temples to fit and then that made Jonathon's  ears stick out really bad and they kept falling off of his face so they are going to make a new pair and not cut the temples.  Those should be in this week.

Took Andrew shopping to get some new jeans, he already outgrew the ones from when school started.  My teenagers are growing rapidly now.

For New Years we had our friends Jeff and Charlotte over.  We ate pizza, watched movies and had lots of fun.  My basement was full of teen boys gaming on their xbox 360 and ps3 online for most of the evening.   Jonathon lasted til about 8p.m. and off to dream land he went.  The end of 2010 was peaceful!

Here is a few photos!
