Happy birthday to me

Today was mostly like any other day except for the fact that it's my birthday.  43 today.   Wow....I remember telling my mom and dad that 40 was sooo old.  Goodness, was I naive or what?

Every year as I get older I find it harder and harder to believe that I am actually "that" old.  I don't feel old...."that" old.  I can't believe that I have a 17 year old child.  And a 15 year old child.  My teenagers have grown up so quick.  And I am so proud of them.  And holy moly.....I have a 4 year old.

Jonathon keeps me young!

My boys were good to me today.  They made sure the kitchen was clean before they headed out to school.  They did errands after school for me. (very nice having an extra driver in the house)  And they actually just kinda sat around and chatted with me before dinner instead of just coming in and heading off to do homework.  That was nice.  That's all I needed.

We ate dinner and then I opened up a couple of presents.  A Coca Cola from Gilbert....because I can't live without my Coca Cola. (thanks hubby).  The boys got me a snuggle blanket.  That will be nice when I am relaxing watching t.v.(I am always freezing).

Kenny is going to take me out shopping this weekend.  That should be fun.

And my sis and her hubby(Carol-Ann and Dave) with new puppy Scarlett stopped by really quick to drop off something for Kenny.  I got a nice cake sheet with a cover and some Spearmint life savers(my new addiction after giving up cigerettes)from them.  Thanks sis!  I love it.

Scarlett is so cute.  And so big already.  Tiny met her really quick because they couldn't stay, we will get the dogs together another day.

So pretty much just another day around here...except for it was my birthday!

My wonderful, bright, intelligent, sweet, kind, gentle son is going to be turning 4!

Birthday Week!

6 days until Jonathon turns 4!  I can't believe this.  He is such a big boy now.

Today we took him to Toys R Us to get his birthday balloon and crown.  We also browsed through many aisles in the dark(store had no power) to see all the great toys!  He picked out many things for his brothers to get him.

Mom got some ideas too.

Now we are back home.  Taking a break from outside today.  Taking a break from swimming.  It's been muggy and rainy off and on so we decided to play inside and watch movies.

Guess we will make a simple dinner too and just relax!!

Oh and we went and got new swim plugs made this afternoon.  The ones we had made last week were not correct and they were getting wet.  Tomorrow we will be ready to swim once more.

Happy Birthday MOM/Mommy/wife

Today is my birthday..I never imagined when I was in my 40's that I would have a toddler..that I would have teenagers...that I would be living my life....so different...

I can remember growing up how I always told my mom and dad that 40 was old and I would probably be dead by then.  How scary is that?  How naive was I?  Now I pray to God every day that I do not die and leave my children.  I pray how all my children need me...so please keep me healthy!

I never thought I would be a non smoker - non drinker- SAHM...  As far as non smoker...I just quit on October 12, 2010.  I have been smoking for many many years...Kenny always complains and tells me how it's not healthy and that I need to quit.  Then I got pregnant with Jonathon in 2006.  Jonathon was born in 2007 and I still smoked.  But then things changed....I found out that my newborn has Down Syndrome...I found out that my newborn had 2 holes in his heart....we stopped smoking in the upstairs of the house...we stopped smoking in the vehicles...then my infant got asthma..we stopped smoking in the house all together and hung signs "NO SMOKING"  Now during all this time, I was and still am so busy with Jonathon that I just didn't have time to walk away and go out or earlier months go downstairs to smoke....so as time went on I smoked less and less....and that led me up to October 12, 2010 and something inside me said "NO MORE"  and I said "Okay"   And I have been smoke free for almost 120 days and I am proud....and surprisingly I am not missing it.  I have my moments when I get irritated because my husband still smokes.....

As far as drinking....I never really quit....I can have one anytime I want....WANT being the key word here...I don't have time to sit and have a few....that takes time away from my children...time I don't have to give away...do I want to feel like crap the next day....I cannot/will not take the chance...Besides drinking is highly over rated.....and my husband is an alcoholic and doesn't need to be around it....so we don't drink.  He gave up drinking for his 3rd child (Jonathon) and has been clean since Dec 2007.  I am very very proud of him....and pray to God everyday that he does not pick up a drink....

SAHM - I stayed home when Andrew and Kenny were little..I just went back to work full time in 2005...so Andrew was 10 and Kenny was 8.   I loved being back out in the working field..I was a waitress and having money in my pocket everyday was great..  I helped my husband pay the bills....I was able to save to buy Andrew a 4 wheeler and new doors for our house....we even got to go on vacation off my pay....but then we had a huge surprise and I guess God didn't really think I needed to work.....we found out I was pregnant again...  

God gave us the most precious gift in the world...he gave us another child...but most of all he trusted us to take care of Jonathon....I pray to God every day thanking him for choosing us.  

Jonathon has changed our lives so much....it's funny how God has a plan...I am not sure where we would be at this point in our lives if it was not for Jonathon!  I love my life and I wouldn't change anything for the world!

So here I am turning 42 today...and I do not feel that old...my boys keep me young...and I love them all very very much!  I love my husband too.  We have our moments, but we continue to stay strong and I hope we always do!

Andrew bought me a new wireless mouse for my birthday! And Kenny, he gave me a can of Coca Cola (my favorite) and $40.00 to go and spend on myself (and he specified myself) LOL.  Jonathon and daddy bought me flowers - carnations to be exact - my all time favorite.  I love all my presents.  I had a good day too.  We did not have cake, which was just fine with me....we have so much going on in the beginning of February (Andrew's birthday and Happy Heart Day and then me) and we already had so much cake....we are caked out and pizza'd out for awhile.

God works in mysterious ways.................

Some Important Days in February

February 1st is my oldest(Andrew) birthday.  He turned 15 this year.  I can still remember the day he was born.  Emergency cesarian after 38 hours of labor!  8lbs 2 ounces!

Andrew is becoming a young man and I am very proud of him.  I can't believe that in only a few years he will be 18!

February 5, 2008 is when Jonathon had Open Heart Surgery to repair 2 holes in his heart(ASD/VSD).  To think that my baby was not even 6 months old.  I thank god every day for protecting my angel!

So every year on February 5th we will celebrate with Jonathon for having a HAPPY MENDED HEART!

And February 7th is mommy's birthday ~ Now I would rather just skip the whole birthday thing every year, but my boys love to bake cake and eat it of course, so once again mommy had a birthday and turned 41 this year!  Jonathon keeps me very young, because I do not feel like I am 41 even though some days I know I look much older!!!!

I also got a new pair of slippers from Kenny, a huge bag of M & M's from Andrew and Coca Cola(12 pk) from Jonathon.  I have been saving for a laptop and I am almost there.  That is my big birthday present, I just don't have it yet.

I spent my day relaxing at home with all my boys.

I am unable to write anymore right now. I have been having some computer issues and we need to get them resolved. When I have corrected the problem I will be back.
